Compass 120 is finally releasing "The Making of a Mint Nickel"
Atlanta, GA – Philadelphia-based rapper Nickelz is releasing his highly anticipated sophomore album, “The Making of a Mint Nickel,” to all streaming platforms.
This album was recording over 10 years ago and features Philadelphia rappers Reef the Lost Cauze and Hollowman. With production from Emile Haynie (Kanye West / Bruno Mars), Documentalz (M.O.P. / Bilal), Cochise (Notorious B.I.G. / Beatnuts).
“I want people to hear this over a decade album that is still relevant, documenting the daily grind and hustle that causes you to be reliant on yourself,” states Nickelz. He says this album was done over ten years ago and never was released. “We did this album in around the same time as my first album, but we’re finally releasing it this year.”
With the first single off the album “We Live It” featuring Reef the Lost Cauze, Nickelz distinctive voice cuts through the Documentalz beat with ease with lines like; “I might forget the rules but I still know the game, and I stay on the move but it’s Philly I claim, and I slang silly my maine…” Nickelz says this is only a view from the past but new material will be following.
