‘LoHi Vibes’, Documentalz’s second 2020 album, highlights the silver lining of quarantine
ATLANTA, GA — Producer Documentalz combines the mellow sounds of hip hop with the dynamic drums of 90s boombap for the ultimate lofi vibe in his second studio album of the year. A follow-up to “The Maestro”, a worldly instrumental album released earlier this year, “LoHi Vibes” is an album concepted and produced entirely during the COVID19 quarantine by a 20-year musical veteran.
With a career spent living in cities across the entire East Coast, it makes sense that the Buffalo, NY born producer would combine the nostalgia of original lofi with the smooth Southern Jazz of his current home in Atlanta, Ga. Clearly, “LoHi Vibes” was influenced by artists such as ‘A Tribe Called Quest’, ‘Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth’ as well as great jazz musicians like Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald.
Few modern producers are capable of successfully marrying the different sounds and genres of music in the rewarding way that ‘LoHi Vibes’ effortlessly accomplishes. With a mix of up-tempo and slow-tempo instrumentals, this album is sure to age well for decades to come.
“LoHi Vibes” will be available September 4, 2020 on all streaming platforms.
